Financial institutions are supposed to help connect people who need capital with those who have excess capital for the purpose of generating economic activity. Banks don’t create wealth, they don’t produce anything of value to the world. They are middlemen, and when they take too large a piece of the pie the system fails because those who actually work and produce are not being properly compensated for their labor. Our bubble is not in real estate, it’s in banking. “The issue is not whether public schools are good or bad, but rather whether I am allowed to disagree with you without getting shot.”
Never forget, simply claiming a problem exists is never a justification to get the federal government involved. It makes no representation as to whether the federal government would help resolve the problem or simply make it worse. Is this announcement foreshadowing a terrible 2008? Chrysler was sold to private equity firm Cerberus just 4 months ago for a fraction of what Daimler acquired it for several years earlier. The company has a few popular products but was an overall perennial loser for the German automaker. It seems that under the new private ownership, nothing has yet changed. CNN is reporting that Chrysler, according to its CEO, is operationally bankrupt. Socialists hate poor people
Central planning as an economic model has been discredited. The Soviet Union collapsed, get over it. Governments can not manage the economy and people’s lives because nobody is smart enough or honest enough to do it right. You are stupid, too, so leave me alone
Freedom is the most logical way to minimize stupidity. You are stupid if you make stupid decisions. A stupid decision is one which is not in your best interest. Your best interest is your vision of a perfect life. Different people have different perceptions of what a perfect life looks like; you may desire a lifestyle that I consider against your best interest. So a decision that may be stupid for me may not necessarily be stupid for you. A stupid decision is one that makes it more difficult for any person to make their unique vision of a perfect life their reality, whatever it is. Freedom or Fascism
On Meet the Press yesterday Ron Paul indicated that he believes America is on the path towards a softer form of fascism, which he labeled corporatism — when the military industrial complex, the medical industrial complex, the communications industry and the financial industry have control over government policy. If you believe fascism is against the best interest of your people, the only way to protect youself from such a system is to support every candidate that espouses a political philosophy of small government and freedom. |
