119 comments on Zeitgeist and none on the death of the dollar. Hmmmm…..

I will register my comments on your Zeitgeist article here so that perhaps you will read them. I was taken by the Addendum for about two hours. I am thinking that the economic bailout garbage has so confounded me and tested my faith in the system that I was willing to engage in thoughts of a utopian alternative. But then my better self kicked in.

As I watched the addendum, some thoughts came to mind immediately. “I like to work. I don’t feel like a slave. What will I do with my time?”

And then there were all of the other sensible objections like who will create all of these wonders and how will they be compensated? What about the people who really don’t like to work? Will they just be supported like children? Not likely.

As EO Wilson says….”socialism, nice idea wrong species.”

I have always thought that the market ultimately does work, but it doesn’t seem to be working now. Of course, since there is so much fiddling around going on it can’t work. But I wonder also if it ever has or ever really could because of cheaters and greed.

Those things will always exist. I know that capitalists will say that their system is the best at ameliorating those aspects of the human psyche. But again, only if it’s allowed to function freely and certainly not instantly and without suffering.

So much to think about at this time.

Thank God Obama’s gonna save us! :-)

Alice
